The most expensive water filtration system might be the one that is installed near the source of the water. This means it filters all of the water coming into the house. Most don’t need this and prefer to have a smaller one that comes though the pipes for the kitchen and other sinks in the home. Those with city water supply might not need a water filtration system for the entire house, but those with well water that can be iffy might need just that. Well water is not tested nearly as much as it should be, and that means that there can be all sorts of unknown contaminates in the water. It usually tastes really good, but taste can be deceiving.

Smaller water filtration units don’t have to be something that costs a lot of money, and they can be installed by the homeowner or renter rather easily. Some are added to the faucet of the sink and filters the water that comes through that particular pipe. This is meant to purify water that is used for human consumption and water needed for cooking and cleaning dishes. These are very inexpensive, and they also come in a unit that is hidden under the sink. These might need to have a filter change on occasion, but as far as water filtration systems go, this is one of the least expensive types.

Water filtration can be very cheap if you just by a filtered water pitcher for the refrigerator. These are filled with water through the tap and the pitcher will filter it for drinking. You can use the water to make ice cubes also, and you can have two if you want to have water ready for things like boiling pasta. This is a very inexpensive way to get a water filtration system into the home. The best thing about them is that if someone were to move, there is no disassembly required.
