			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The world has undergone a tremendous amount of change over the years. Professions that people hadn’t even heard of some years ago are now much in vogue. Personal coaching belongs to this category. A large number of people are hiring coaches for various reasons. An important thing to be noted is that it’s not just the coach who is important in the coaching process. Even the client plays an important role in making the coaching process better. Certain tips can be kept in mind by the client in order to make the most of coaching. These tips have been put forward in this article.</p>
<p>The first thing to be kept in mind is to plan the coaching partnership in collaboration with the coach. In order to build such a relationship, the client may need to analyze his earlier relationships. He will need to determine how his earlier relationships became successful; think of how he worked in order to make that relationship strong. And then try to apply those efforts to his relationship with the coach. He should have a very good comfort level with the coach. Unless he feels comfortable with the coach, he can never proceed in the relationship. So, when he selects the coach, he needs to make sure he feels comfortable.<br />

If he finds that the coach has certain features that are similar or different to him it could prove helpful. He should see to it that the qualities that the coach possesses should help in enhancing his growth. Every coach has his own specific manner of working with the client. He should discuss his aims and objectives with the coach keeping in mind the coach’s qualities. Sometimes, things don’t go as per the plan. In such a case, he needs to convey to the coach what he feels about the situation. He needs to ask the coach about how he can tackle the problems that he comes across.</p>
<p>Between the coach and the client, there exists collaboration. This collaboration will work when both the parties put in the same amount of efforts. He needs to put forward his feelings before the coach. Unless the coach understands what he feels, he can do nothing. So, never let there be a gap in communication. Keeping in mind these tips, coaching clients can make the most of their coaching.             </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>While the old saying is “if you are talking to yourself then you are going crazy”, there are times when talking to ourselves does in fact lead to a happier and better adjusted person.<br />
There is nothing more powerful than words; they can bring hurt and anger or joy and pleasure. By using a system called “affirmations” you can change your outlook on life in general and yourself, affirmations are simply statements you make to yourself throughout the day which lead to a desired situation.</p>
<p>Over a period of time the subconscious takes note of what you are saying and it sinks in, so in order for it to work and have the desired effect you have to convince yourself and have the desire to make them come true.<br />

An easy example of how this works could be imagining you are running a marathon for charity, you are getting tired, you ache, and you feel like giving up. As you run instead of thinking how tired you are and how much you ache replace these thoughts with “I can do it”, “I am almost there” or “I am doing this for others”. Simply by changing your thoughts to more positive ones you will find that you get a new spurt of energy, you no longer feel as tired or ache as much. You now have a new strength and more positive outlook to getting there.<br />
This is just one simple example of how you can turn a situation around and make the most of the situation. Of course this could be adapted for anything you encounter in life, whenever you are faced with a struggle.</p>
<p>Short affirmations seem to work better than repeating longer sentences, repeating them and believing in what you are saying is essential. If you continually repeat something to yourself without really having conviction in what you are saying it will not bring the same effect.<br />
Another important factor is to not look into the future with your affirmations, keep them in the present. For example say “I am” and not “I will”. Positivity is also the key; keep your affirmations on a positive note, after all you want to encourage positivity not negativity. The wording you choose for your affirmation should bring about a positive picture in your mind.</p>
<p>Changing the way you think of course will take time, don’t think just because you repeat an affirmation for 5 or 10 minutes you are going to see big changes in your outlook on life. It will take time to get your brain adjusted to this new more positive way of thinking and acting. The biggest factor is having faith that it will work and investing the time into affirming. </p>
<p>Affirmations work faster in some situations than in others and even if you have been practicing affirmations for a long time you will occasionally come across some situations which are harder to get on top of than others. Stick with it and ignore any doubts that creep in and you will eventually see big changes in your life and attitude towards it.</p>

If you adopt a positive attitude and an optimistic view of life, you will lead a more satisfying and healthy life than when you constantly look at the dark side of things or take a negative stance. Studies have shown that people with a happy state of mind live healthier and longer. They lead more fulfilling lives. People who are highly pessimistic are known to run a higher risk of suffering from cardiovascular disorders and other ailments than those who are habitually highly optimistic.</p>
<p>You would like to live a good and healthy life for long, surely. The best way for this is to shed your negative way of thinking and replace it by positive thinking, positive attitude and optimism. This is the very foundation for well-being and a fulfilling and happy life. Real enjoyment in life comes when your good health permits you to reap the benefits of your material wealth. And that is possible if you habitually look at the brighter side of life. The power of positive thinking cannot be underestimated in terms of its effect on promoting health.<br />

Adopt a way of thinking which helps you always to be hopeful, even in times of extreme misery and sorrow. As day follows night, if you remember that a brighter and better life is round the corner and that the present, however poorly lighted it might be, will give way to a brighter future, your attitude is optimistic. It will help you to deal with the prevailing circumstances with fortitude and patience.</p>
<p>Psychological studies conducted on some Harvard students have established a strong correlation between the optimistic attitude demonstrated in their student days and the health they enjoyed after they attained the age of 40 and above. Optimism has proven benefits. You deal with your life’s problems in a better way if you adopt a positive attitude. You will then lead a healthier, happier life and there is a high probability of living longer.</p>
<p>It is not impossible to change your way of thinking from negative to positive, even when you have been a pessimist all along. You can change your attitudes, with a little bit of effort and training. Remember, it is never too late to change, if that change is for the better and holds out hope for a better health and happier life. Start right away by banishing all negative remarks and utterances that you are in the habit of making. Gradually improve upon it by thinking with hope for better things to come, for better health and for a favorable solution to your problems, whatever they might be.</p>
<p>Practice is essential for thinking in a positive manner even when faced with an apparently hopeless situation. Analyze the facts, get rid of your fears and above all take full responsibility for your actions. Just see some good in the worst of situations and events. If you adopt this attitude, you will see for yourself how your life takes a new meaning. You will be healthy and happy. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In order to succeed in life there has to be a purpose to your life and you have to find purpose in everything that you do. If there isn’t purpose behind everything that do then why would you do it, if you become down in wondering why or how or if you are going in the right direction in life then maybe its time you stopped and looked at what it is you really wish to achieve out of life.</p>
<p>There are three main parts to your life’s purpose and by thinking about each of these parts you can determine if changes need to be made and what changes need to be made if any, life’s three main purposes are what motivates you, your principles and targets. If you can bring all these together then you truly know your life’s purpose.<br />

Sit down and think long and deep about your life and what it is you want out of it, write down the activities that you do I your daily life and which you get the most enjoyment from. These of course should be linked to what you are hoping to achieve or get out of life. They should be all the things which motivate you in life and which help to get you towards where you want to be in life. When you have made your list, study it and reorganize it from the most important to the least.</p>
<p>When it comes to principles think about the ideals that you have what it is you believe in strongly. Sit down and think about this, write down as many as you can think of. When you have your list take another look at it and pick out one single principle, this principle will become your guiding principle.</p>
<p>Your life’s purpose obviously involves you reaching targets, what you want out of life and what you are aiming towards.  These can be in your career or in your life; all areas of your life have purpose in whatever you do regardless of if they be work or your personal life. Your targets should have been clearly outlined in goals that you set out for yourself. These are what you are reaching towards in the future. Your goals should be divided into short-term goals, mid term and long-term goals. They should be reachable in a specified amount of time and you should also set yourself some targets which you will have to really push yourself to reach, this will give you the will to succeed and to push yourself that little bit further.<br />
Once you have got all these together then your purpose in life shouldn’t be too hard to see, you will have gained the first steps needed to become enlightened. You should take everything you gain for this and use it to your advantage, it is extremely practical and valuable knowledge in your quest through life and what it is you want to get out of life. </p>

Your response to the situation obviously depends on two things: your perception of the situation and your ability to deal with that situation or problem. You may stay and fight stress or you may attempt in vain to run away from it. If you succumb to stress, you may leave the door open to psychiatric disorders or illnesses of various types that could effect your long term ability to cope with stress. </p>
<p>Usually, stress results when you bottle up your emotions within you. Find avenues for releasing pent up feelings. Confide in your close friends and relatives, talk and discuss your problems with them and get their support. Give yourself a place to vent your feelings as freely as you can. Consult a behavior therapist, a religious leader or someone whom you trust. By doing so, you will experience a sense of relief.<br />

One of the best ways to deal with stress is to engage in physical activity and exercise. Physical activity makes you feel good and happy. Any outdoor games or activities like jogging and walking, especially in the company of friends or relatives will be quite beneficial in lifting your spirits and drawing you away from stress.</p>
<p>Eat nourishing foods. Include fresh fruits, vegetables and proteins in your diet. Eat slowly and enjoy your meal. Avoid eating sugary foods that boost your energy quickly but only temporarily. Also, avoid drinking alcohol or taking intoxicants in the false hope of escaping from stress. The idea here is to supply your body with the fuel that burns and gives it the energy it requires to deal with stress. Eating regularly is a good habit that will help alleviate additional stresses.</p>
<p>Laugh and be happy. Watch a funny movie, read a book of jokes or let out loud laughter whenever you notice something silly or foolish in what you have done. You can get upset, but try to overcome it quickly and laugh it off because it will be better for your mental and physical health. Laughter is the best medicine for stress.</p>
<p>Loneliness is a very good friend of stress. If you want to beat stress, get rid of loneliness. Spend your time in the company of your loved ones, friends and relatives. You will not only enjoy yourself but also get help in solving your stress-producing problems.</p>
<p>Learn to relax. Find out ways and means of relaxing in times of stress. Deep breathing will help. In some cases, self-hypnosis may be useful. Meditation techniques are very good as a means of de-stressing. There is nothing like some sound sleep for good relaxation and for getting rid of stress.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Self-empowerment simply means taking charge of your own life, you and only you decides what is right for you and where you want to go in the future, you make your own decisions and stick with them, not giving in to doubt or fear that you may have made the wrong choice. It is simply about taking your own life back into your own hands and listening to your inner self instead of relying on others for your future happiness and success. </p>
<p>Most of us rely on others to make decisions for us and we go along with them, this can be for many different reasons such as insecurity, low self-esteem or simply because it seems the easiest way to go. We do this in a variety of situations, some are as simple as choosing which movie to go and see and you follow along with your partner’s choice or where you want to go and eat. Taking your life back into your own hands and making your own choices is a simple as making healthy positive choices be they mental, emotional or physical. The following are all tips for making the right choices that enables you to become self-empowering.<br />

Replace negative thoughts with positive<br />
We all have self-doubt at sometime or other, this is natural, but too many negative thoughts harm our way of thinking. Negative thinking however always seems to be so much easier to instil than positive, whether we care to believe it or not our feelings and how we feel or think does have a huge impact on our lives and what we think we are capable of achieving or not. We can so easily talk ourselves out of making decisions and choices if we listen to that small doubtful inner voice that so often shows up. It is those two little words that so often come to mind even without paying them much attention, “what if”, that cause so many problems. Once the “what if’s” have surfaced then self-doubt begins to take over every time and we can then go from a positive attitude to a negative one very quickly. Affirmations work well for changing negative thinking into positive thinking and affirmations are simply positive short statements that are repeated to oneself out loud or just in the mind. Write down four or five simple short statements and when self-doubt and the “what if’s” creep in consciously replace it with one of your chosen affirmations. </p>
<p>Avoid blaming others for your negative thoughts<br />
Realise that it is you and only you which puts these negative thoughts there, for example if you get stuck in a traffic jam then you can curse and work yourself up all you want but it wont change the fact that your stuck in a jam. Do not blame other drivers, the road works holding you up etc., take responsibility for the fact that you chose to drive that way, you set off at that particular time and instead of stressing yourself and those around you just let it go and focus on aspects that are more positive while you are stuck. Take this time to listen to that new CD you bought, read the report from your briefcase, practise affirmations or a stress reducing exercise, there are many more positive things you can do during this time than think negative.</p>
<p>Decide what it is that you want<br />
Start with the little everyday choices that you are faced with, for example when asked what movie you want to go and see, stop and think and make a choice don’t just ask what your partner or friend would like to see. When asked which restaurant you would like to go to, give a decisive answer. Take control of your life in the small ways first and build up gradually until you are comfortable with this new way of thinking. It will probably take a while for this new, more confident and positive way of thinking becomes easy, after all you have let negative thoughts and feelings rule your life for so long, they wont change overnight. By practising and pulling yourself up when negative thoughts and feelings enter your mind and doing this day in and day out slowly you will gain control back over your life and become more self-empowered.          </p>
